Champas, a scruffy white tom cat, waited in a shelter for more than a year for someone to adopt him. While waiting, the staff at the Animal Welfare League NSW in Australia, hatched a plan. They gave him a job as the office receptionist’s helper.

Then they posted his picture on social media with the following to highlight his benefits: ‘Office cat with impeccable credentials! – CHAMPAS.’

It worked. A man named Nathan quickly adopted Champas and now Champas has a forever home after waiting more than a year. So the lesson is clear. When in doubt, advertise. If it can work for businesses and a cat, it can work for you too.
