Asia seems to have started the fad of cat cafes. Then Europe and North America discovered the joys of cat cafes as well. Now Ottawa, Canada will get its first cat cafe called the Feline Café.
Like most cat cafes, the Feline Café will offer a food counter and cat lounge bisected by a two-door vestibule, to conform to health codes. Profits from salads, sandwiches and drinks will be used to look after the cats, which will be from Ottawa Stray Cat Rescue.
The next time you’re visiting Ottawa, look for the Feline Café to enjoy a beverage and a cat. Perhaps if more cat cafes pop up around the world, people will be too busy caring for cats to worry about passing oppressive laws hurting the rights of others.
