The Central Intelligence Agency (CIA) spends enormous amounts of time and money trying to keep this country safe (whether through fair means or foul). Perhaps one of the most bizarre ideas the CIA came up with was called Project Acoustic Kitty.

The basic idea was to embed a microphone, transmitter, and antenna inside a cat and then let the cat wander up near a target to eavesdrop on them. This plan failed when the CIA discovered they couldn’t reliably get a cat to do anything they wanted it to do.

Who knew that the best way to foil the CIA would be to use a cat?
