During a baseball game between the St. Louis Cardinals and the Kansas City Royals, a cat ran across the baseball field, temporarily halting play. After ground crew members retrieved the cat, the St. Louis Cardinals player hit the next pitch for a grand slam home run, giving the Cardinals the lead and eventually the game.
Now in appreciate for the cat’s appearance on the field, the St. Louis Cardinals are offering a Rally Cat Appreciation Day where fans can get a Rally Cat T-shirt. In addition, a portion of the ticket sales will go towards a local animal shelter. Who knew that a cat could prove so influential in sports? Now if cats could only take over politics, we could all rest easy.
