Any cat owner knows that cats lick themselves, ingest their own fur, and wind up coughing up hairballs in the middle of the night, usually when you need sleep the most. If house cats cough up hairball regularly, you may wonder if their larger cousins do the same thing?

Curiously, big cats don’t seem to cough up hairballs like ordinary house cats. Perhaps their larger size allows them to pass hair through their bodies easier or perhaps house cats just enjoy making a mess and watching their owner’s face when they have to clean it up afterwards.
