Five years ago, Nguhi Muturi lost her cat in Dallas, Texas. Panther, her black cat, ran away. Panther wound up getting put in an animal shelter and almost euthanized until a woman rescued Panther and kept the cat until she could no longer care for it any more.
That’s when the woman gave the cat to her parents, who happened to live next door to Muturi. Once back near home, Panther simply went back his original home and even snuggled in his favorite spot.
Since cats can escape, it’s always important to get it microchipped to improve the odds you’ll get your cat back. After all, you can’t rely on luck that your cat will wind up next door after going missing for five years.
