In England, more than half of all landlords have regulations preventing renters from having a cat. That rule causes many families to abandon their pets in shelters, but that regulation may now change.
Cats Protection, England’s leading feline charity, is launching a new campaign to help people living in rented property own a pet cat with all the correct paperwork. They’ll be offering free advice to landlords and letting agencies so that tenancy agreements reflect modern-day living with the positive health and happiness advantages that come through pet ownership.
If you live in England, put pressure on landlords to allow cats. With responsible cat owners, there’s no reason why renters can’t give a cat a good home.
