If you have a mix of older cats and younger kittens, you may need to provide different types of food for both. Cats should eat cat food and kittens should eat kitten food that’s specially designed to provide them with the nutrition they need to grow up.
However, sometimes cats will eat kitten food and wind up getting obese in the process while starving out the kittens. To prevent this problem, try to feed cats and kittens in separate areas so that way the kittens can eat their food in peace. As a general rule, kitten food is for kittens so don’t let your cat eat it too.
