Dogs have an incredible sense of smell, which is why people can train dogs to sniff out drugs, explosives, and cadavers. Yet cats also have an enhanced sense of sight, hearing, and smelling that excels over human senses, which makes you wonder how people ever thought they were the masters of their pets.

Surprisingly, cats have a weak sense of taste, which might explain why they like cat food that smells awful to people. That’s why cats use their superior sense of sight and hearing to track prey and humans, so the next time you think your cat is being lazy, it’s probably hearing everything you’re doing and just doesn’t think it’s worth its time to look in your direction.
