Garfield, New Jersey may seem named after Garfield the cartoon cat from the comic strip, but residents are not laughing at the abundance of feral cats taking over their city. Residents complain of stray cats vomiting, defecating, and mating in their neighborhoods, so it’s no different than living near any college campus in America.

Communities are trying to herd the cats into colonies where they can be spayed and neutered. Yet this costs money and time. Until then, Garfield may be overrun by cats so if you live in that area, consider adopting some stray cats before they get out of hand.
