When its get sick, they may need to take medication. Unfortunately, that often means trying to slip a pill into the cat’s mouth while the cat spits it out and scratches your face off in the process.
Before trying to shove a pill down a cat’s throat, prepare your cat way ahead of time by getting it used to you playing with the cat’s mouth. That way if the time ever comes when the cat needs a pill, it will be used to your hands near its mouth.
You might also try slipping a pill into a cat’s food or treats although cats aren’t as easily fooled as dogs. Even if your cat isn’t sick now, plan now on ways you could get a pill in your cat’s mouth. It won’t be easy, but if you cat needs a pill, you have no choice so make sure your cat knows it too.
