Ancient Egyptians used to worship cats as gods, which explains why ancient Egypt eventually collapsed as a world power. As part of their love for cats, ancient Egyptians mummified cats and recently archeologists unearthed several of those cat mummies.
Archeologists report that the artifacts date back to the 36th dynasty, considered ancient Egypt’s renaissance era. Of course turning your cat into a mummy may not be your way of showing respect, but this does prove that even ancient people knew the value of a cat in their lives and wished to honor cats for bringing joy to their world.
