As more people adopt cats, they tend to spoil them, often by overfeeding them because they feel that food represents their love. Unfortunately excess food also represents a chance for cats to get more obese as their owners overfeed them.
“Yes, cats are getting fatter,” said Kären Marsden, owner of Edmonton Holistic Veterinary Clinic. “They are, unfortunately. They’re very, very well fed.”
While it’s okay to love your cat, don’t equate love with excess food. Keep your cat healthy so it will live longer and share your life as long as possible. That represents true love.
