One odd fact about cats is that many of them haver white paws that make it look like they’re wearing white socks. This trait is so common that it’s easy to overlook, but it does raise the question of why cats evolved to have these white markings on their feet.
Scientists believe that early domesticated cats had both white paws and non-white paws, but humans found white paws aesthetically appealing so they tended to keep and protect the cats with white paws. That eventually led to more cats sporting white paws.
Of course, scientists are only guessing so there could be other reasons as well, but if you see a cat with white or without white paws, chances are good it will make someone a good companion one day.
