Scientists don’t know why cats purr but they do know that the purring noise they make comes from vibration of the cat’s diaphragm. Curiously, scientists believe purring must have a purpose because it requires energy and as any cat owner knows, the last thing cats won’t to expend is energy. 

Scientist have proven that purring can lower a human’s blood pressure and anxiety level. Purring also occurs at the exact frequency best suited for healing bones, so if you can’t afford health care, get a cat as a low-cost substitute.
