Tunisia helped spark the Arab Spring where people demanded freedom. Unfortunately, much of that revolution seeking freedom has wound up going nowhere. However, Tunisia’s revolution did spark cartoonist, Nadia Khiari, to create political cartoons based on a cat.

In one cartoon, a boot stomps on the cat’s face under the caption “Before the revolution.” In the second panel, the same boot stomps on the cat’s face while the cat screams under the caption, “Today we have freedom of expression.”

If a cat cartoon can help educate people and make life a little better, then that shows the power of cats and art put together.
