Tony Wittman, 44, was charged with kidnapping, false imprisonment, burglary and weapons charges after allegedly threatening a 23-year-old woman with a loaded assault rifle at the Lost Dogs Home in Cranbourne West. Tony apparently went to the shelter to retrieve the cat after the shelter had already closed for the night.

After holding a shelter worker hostage and tying her up, he left empty-handed, only to return the next morning when the police were investigating the incident. While it’s nice that he wanted his cat back so badly, there are obviously other ways to retrieve a cat without resorting to violence.
