The Chinese Mountain Cat looks like a cuddly, fluffy animal so scientists decided to study its DNA to determine if domestic cats descended from it. As it turns out, the Chinese Mountain Cat is its own unique breed that has nothing to do with today’s domestic cats.

So you probably won’t be able to adopt a Chinese Mountain Cat any more than you might be able to adopt a lion or tiger. If you want a wild creature that you can’t control, any of today’s domestic cat breeds will suit you just fine.
