Video games are always pushing the boundaries of technology and Sony’s latest PlayStation 5 continues this trend. Part of enhancing realism beyond sharp graphics is the use of haptic technology, which lets you feel vibrations through the game controller.

In the video game “Ghosts of Tsushima,” a cat wanders towards the player and gently nibbles on his hand while purring. This gentle bit and purring then gets felt through the haptic technology in the game controller, making you feel as if the virtual cat is actually purring and rubbing against your hand. Just make sure you pet a virtual cat without your real cat around or it might get jealous.
