The Carolina Panthers have a unique marketing technique. Besides being named after a large cat, the Carolina Panthers also created an augmented reality panther that roams around the stadium and roars after shredding the opposing team’s flag.
The technology behind this augmented reality image involves using the Unreal video game engine to create the virtual panther. The team plans to create additional augmented reality animations of the panther during football games as well. Then again, all we need is for a real cat to run out on the playing field during a game to know that house cats are still more appealing than virtual reality big cats.
