Deborah Hodge owns a cat named India. Like most pet owners, Deborah would never want to be separated from her pets, but that’s what would have happened when her landlord forbid animals in rental units.
So to get around this problem, Deborah married India. Now that her cat is legally wedded to her, Deborah is able to keep India in her rental unit so they can’t be separated, unless, of course, the cat wants a divorce.
