Everyone likes music. The only difference is that people tend to like different kinds of music. Since people have difference preferences for music, scientists started wondering what type of music cats might enjoy listening to?

Psychologists at the University of Wisconsin, and David Teie, a musician, have learned that cats like music that has a pulse related to purring of 1380 beats per minute. To determine if cats liked the music or not, researchers watched to see if the cat purred, rubbed against speakers and oriented their head toward the music.
