When most people think of cats, the first country that comes to mind is rarely India. Yet India is home to fifteen different wild cat species, which represents approximately 40% of the total number of wildcat species in the world.

Naturally there are big cats like lions, leopards, and tigers, but there are also smaller cats like the fishing cat and the jungle cat that might look at home in your house. If you ever have a chance to visit India, be sure to look for some wild cats that you might not see anywhere else outside of a zoo.
