Schools often spend fortunes recruiting the top athletes in lieu of actually spending their money on furthering education. Since recruiting can be so difficult, a Houston school tried a unique recruiting tactic. Instead of sending a letter of recruitment to the athlete, they addressed the later to his cat instead.
The letter read:
“As you know we’re trying to convince J.T. Rice is the place for him. I know you’d like to keep him close so he can feed you and change the litter box. Please help us to get him to choose us. Paw me if you have any questions.”
Whether the letter worked or not, the athlete chose that particular high school over any others.
