On Lake Havasu, a boat hit a sandbar, filled with water, and sank to the bottom. When rescuers went to check on the boat, they discovered a cat had stowed away on the boat and hid in a side panel near the front of the ship.
The cat, now nicknamed River, is a brown, American shorthair breed. “The cat was trapped, hungry, wet and scared,” the rescuer said. “I’ve been doing this for 15 years, and I’ve never found a live animal on a sunken boat. She was down there for an hour – It’s miraculous that she survived.”
