The idea of training a dog makes sense. You can train a dog not to go to certain areas and to obey spoken commands. Despite the stereotype that cats are independent, it’s possible to train a cat.
The key to training any animal (or human for that matter) is positive reinforcement. Make the cat happy to be trained and your cat will likely make you happy by following your commands. Training should be a time to enjoy your cat, not make it a stressful period for your cat.
