In Australia, the Sharks were playing the Panthers in rugby when a black cat run across the field. The cat darted across the field and then out of sight so its welfare is unknown. However, the game had been close up until that point.
After the black cat’s arrival and disappearance, the Sharks went on to defeat the Panthers. Former Panther Joe Galuvao even claims the black cat jinxed the Panthers into losing, although their poorer quality of play probably had a lot more to do with the eventual outcome of the game than the presence of a black cat.
