Cats typically live between 10-20 years, so if your cat is getting older, you may want to know what a healthy, older cat might look like and behave. To answer this question, a groundbreaking special issue of the international, peer-reviewed Journal of Feline Medicine and Surgery (JFMS) has been published devoted to the subject ‘feline healthy ageing’.

The goal is to provide data on how to identify healthy, aging cats for veterinarians. That way vets can tell when an older cat may be normal and when it might be sick instead.
