Like many people, Russell Powell was watching the volleyball Olympics on TV when his cat, Smoosh, suddenly took an interest in the activity on the TV screen.
“She usually sits on the foot of the bed just scowling at people in judgment, but then she saw the ball going back and forth,” Powell said, laughing.
Once Smoosh saw the volleyball bouncing around, started trying to bat the ball around and followed its movement on the screen. Now Smoosh has become the next Internet sensation.
While Smoosh is fascinated by volleyball, he doesn’t appear interested in any other Olympic events. Perhaps Smoosh might find diving or gymnastics interesting but like most people Smoosh probably won’t care about race walking or other obscure events that nobody really cares about.
