Author Ernest Hemingway loved cats so his former home was turned into a museum that now houses up to 54 cats. As hurricane Ram barrels down to hit Florida, a handful of people along with all the cats will attempt to ride it out in the Hemingway Home Museum.

While the dangers of the hurricane are real, the Hemingway Home Museum has never lost a cat to a hurricane.

“Cats know naturally when to go. As soon as the barometric pressure drops, they come in,” executive director Dave Gonazlez said. “They know before humans do when it’s time to get in.”
