Achilles, a Russian cat that supposedly has psychic powers, has been fairly accurate in predicting early World Cup matches. Achilles predicted Russia would win its first two matches and that Iran would defeat Morocco. However, Achilles incorrectly predicted Nigeria would defeat Argentina (Nigeria lost, 1 – 2).
Still if you had bet on Achilles’s predictions, you would have won most of the time, which makes Achilles better than many professional sports analysts. Given a choice between following a cat or following a human, it’s usually best to follow the cat every time whether it has psychic powers or not.
